At the Age of 11 he moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he started studying music at the Elma Lewis School of Fine Arts. Later, he moved to Western Massachusetts where he met his inspirations; Archie Shepp, Marion Brown, Steve McCraven, and Avery Sharpe.
